A Month in Henderson

We spent 36 nights at our little oasis house in Henderson, Nevada waiting out the COVID lockdown. The house we found was a perfect spot to lay low and have some downtime.

We stayed busy at the house spending hours upon hours in the pool. We watched the entire StarWars Saga, played tons of board games and all started a running program.

We also tried new recipes, built forts, and played a ton of boardgames. The girls got their hoverboards out around the neighbourhood, and we took the bikes out for a tour of local bike trails.

The girls decorated Easter eggs and the Easter Bunny found us and left some delicious treats.

We managed a couple of socially distance outings and did some hiking in Sloan Canyon, where the cacti and flowers were just starting to bloom. A bicycle trip down the Historic Railway Trail in Boulder City took us through some interesting mountain tunnels and along Lake Mead.

All in all we had a fun month and ended up with great tans! There were plenty of times we were itching to get back on the road but we were very fortunate to find such a great house to rent on such short notice. As May 1st rolled around camping at some parks are starting to reopen and we are able to get back on the road while still being cautious and keeping our distance from others.
